Other Therapies

Rehab Physio London work in conjunction with our team of Speech and Language Therapists, Psychologists, Occupational Therapists,  Dieticians and Music Therapists to provide a focused, multidisciplinary approach; helping patients achieve their goals in their environment, in there time.

Speech and Language Therapy (SLT)

Speech and Language therapists provide treatment and support for clients who have difficulties with verbal and non-verbal communication, or with eating, drinking and swallowing. Our speech therapists work with individuals and their carers/family and closely with other therapy professionals as part of the wider  team.

Neuropsychology

Neuropsychology involves psychologists who specialise in understanding the relationship between the physical brain and behaviour.  Illnesses, injuries, and diseases of the brain and nervous system can affect the way a person feels, thinks, and behaves.

A Neuropsychologist can help determine what impairments you might have and how severe they are. Neuropsychologists help develop a treatment plan by understanding how the brain functions and how that functioning relates to behaviour.

Occupational Therapy

Our occupational therapists focus on developing, recovering, or maintaining the daily living and working skills of clients with physical, mental or cognitive impairments. They work closely with other members of the rehabilitation team using a ‘whole person’ approach’ and enable individuals to achieve their full potential. Input from Occupational Therapists is often essential to facilitate safe discharge home from hospital or rehabilitation.

Dietetics

Dieticians assess, diagnose, treat diet and nutrition problems. They work within our team to translate the latest research on health, nutrition and disease into methods which enable patients to participate in therapy programmes and improve their overall health.

Music Therapy

International research studies suggest music therapy is a highly effective approach in rehabilitation. It uses music, sound, instruments to support people, understand themselves and make positive changes in their lives. Music engages and supports patient’s with a range of psychosocial, emotional, medical or behavioural issues.

Music therapy can:

  •  Reduce anxiety and the physical effects of stress
  • Improve self-expression, confidence and communication
  • Develop trust and relationships
  • Improve concentration and attention span
  • Improve motor planning and coordination

Music therapy can be carried out in individual sessions or in conjunction with our other therapies.
